Anirudh Roy, 5yrs,Allahabad

I used to teach in UKG class in Air Force School Manauri those days,Manauri is a small town next to the "city of sangam" i.e Allahabad.....
Manauri is not a advanced city like Allahabad so the nearest decent school for the local and Air Force kids was this school...
Anirudh used to be one of the good students of the class..but a very naughty child...
One day while i just went to speak to one of my colleagues...all the students started playing outside the class..and while they were playing they noticed a stray dog next to our class room, the dog was lying down liesurely next to a broekn piece of furniture..
most of the kids were quite scared of the animal so they came running to the class room..but Anirudh took some stones and started throwing at the creature..the dog got furious and was about to bite this kid..when one of my colleagues came and dragged the kid back..and called me and informed me about what had happened....
I felt really bad as i wasnt there when this thing took place..and it took place in a very short span of time..there wasnt time to react...
well i came back to the class..and told all the students that it was very unfair on thier part to torture a animal like that..and i explained them that we shoudnt hurt anybody just because we are superior to that particular living being...and about Anirudh...i asked the whole class to avoid talking to him..and I statred playing with all the students..and we had lot of fun in front of him..making him feel guilty...for what he had done....
after sometime..he went outside where the dog was still lying..and what i witnessed there.i can never express my feelings for that...
Anirudh was holding his ears and said...."sorry doggy i'll never hit you again,my mam has told me that we should love everybody"!!!
I was in tears..look at that child...how quickly and innocently he apologised in front of the animal...and then he came back..and informed me..that he had said sorry..and asked me.."mam can I sit on your lap..as i normally do..I hope you are not angry with me anymore...i hugged him tightly..and felt proud.
Anirudh made me feel proud of the fact that whatever i taught my students he actually implemented it in real life that too at a tender age of 5yrs....!!

wow..

thats a great kid.. and an interesting teacher. do u still do such classes.. even if u dont, i think you have done your bit of the thing in being part of good thoughts of such a child..

while people like you directly or indirectly would make education mean much more than just scoring good marks.. i am sure, anirudh will be a great responsible citizen when he grows up.
